YOUNG VOLUNTEER PROGRAMME 2019-20
- Programme to run from October 2019 until the end of July 2020
- Aimed at 15 – 25-year-old volunteers from clubs,
With 25 hours of volunteering to be completed by end of July 2020.
County Programme to include
Overview and briefing on the annual programme and the content – to include logbooks. Workshops – two at least from the following:
Event Organisation
Young Aquatic Helper
Young Aquatic Leader
Team Manager Training
Officials course Timekeeping or Judge 1
Opportunities
Volunteering/development opportunities to be offered by Clubs, Counties and the Region at galas and open Meets as well as County and Regional event.
All workshops to be completed by the end of July 2020
The end of the programme may culminate in a Regional Celebration event – held in September 2020
Additional information
- Places allocated via an application process.
- Clubs terms of reference
- Logbooks will be given to all volunteers
- Advice to be made available to clubs and mentors
- Each County to appoint a County lead for the programme.
- Region will provide clubs with continuing support for Swim Mark accreditation.
- Region will work with Active Partnerships to give mentoring support to the club mentors – if required
- Young volunteers eligible to apply to be a member of the National Youth Forum.
- County Leads to forward YV information and numbers to the Regional Development Coordinator along with course dates.
- County Leads to provide case studies which have been generated by the young volunteer.
- County Leads to provide additional data (numbers, reports) prior to / or along with funding submission at the end of the programme
